Vodafone Cover me Mobile Insurance will help protect You in the event of:
Accidental Damage to Your handset
Malicious Damage to Your handset (except by You or someone acting with Your knowledge, consent or participation)
Damage, loss and theft of Your handset by replacement or repair up to the value of $1700
Damage, loss and theft of accessories supplied with Your handset at the time of purchase by replacement or repair up to the value of $100
Unauthorised Calls – by reimbursement of unauthorised call costs incurred up to a maximum of $500
Effective April 1st 2010 the following manufacturer handsets will be classified as Smartphones under the insurance scheme:
Apple (iPhone)
Blackberry
HTC
Worldwide cover for up to 90 days in any rolling 12 month period
Lost or stolen handsets will be replaced at Our option with a new handset of similar specification up to $1700
If Your handset sustains Damage, We will;
firstly attempt to repair it with new or refurbished parts if it is economically viable for Us to do so
where Your handset is not repaired We will, at Our option, either:
- replace Your handset with a refurbished handset of similar specification if available or
- where a refurbished phone is not available, replace Your handset with a new handset of similar specification
Certain loss, theft or damage will not be covered and this includes:
wear and tear, gradual deterioration or developing flaws
when Your handset and/or accessories are covered under manufacturer, distributor or supplier warranty
failure or malfunction of Your handset in the absence of Damage
any loss, theft or Damage intended by You or someone acting with Your knowledge, consent or participation
any loss, theft or Damage caused by Your negligence
when Your handset is left in any unlocked vehicle or visible in any vehicle
Damage resulting from fire
when Your handset and/or accessories are not on Your person and are exposed to loss, theft or Damage by failing to take reasonable efforts to guard against such loss, theft or Damage
if You have not paid Your premium
if You fail to take reasonable precautions against the loss, theft or Damage
You will be charged a monthly premium of $9.99 including GST.
This premium is payable one (1) month in advance and is debited to Your Vodafone account.
Premiums can change and You will be notified 14 days in advance of any change.
All valid claims are subject to an excess fee which will be payable by You and will be charged to Your Vodafone account.
Up to three valid claims within any 12 month period.
Any advice contained within the PDS and accompanying documents is general and does not take into account Your individual objectives, financial situation or needs. Because of that, You should consider the appropriateness of this product with regard to Your objectives, financial situation and needs. You need to decide if the limits, type and level of cover are appropriate for You and will cover Your potential loss.
