ADVISORY - DISRUPTION TO SERVICES IN QUEENSLAND – 4:00 P.M. (ADST)

NETWORK SERVICES IMPACTED IN PARTS OF QUEENSLAND

Cyclone Debbie and its aftermath which is causing heavy rain and flooding in Queensland, has affected power supplies affecting network services in some regions.

Vodafone does not currently have a clear picture of the extent or expected duration of these power outages, but advises customers that the power supply problems are currently having an adverse effect on services in several locations in Queensland.

In Southern Queensland, our engineers today made their way to several impacted sites and successfully restored services in the following locations: Hillcrest, Meridian Hill, Nambour, Noosa, Noosaville, Tewantin and Sunrise Beach.

Areas that remain impacted include:

Far North Queensland

Airlie Beach, Bloomsbury, Bowen, Carmila, Guthalungra, Koumala, Mount Rooper, Strathdickie and Whitsundays.

Southern Queensland

Beerburrum, Cooroy, Doonan, Eumundi, Gildora, Gunalda, Gympie, Iveragh, Maroochydore, Miriam Vale, Toonboro, Peregian Springs, Rockhampton and Woodford.

Where possible, Vodafone has been using helicopters to fly in back-up generators and diesel fuel to network areas that have lost power in an effort to maintain network services.

Vodafone is working with other support organisations and will provide further updates on the situation as details become available.

STORE CLOSURES TODAY IN BRISBANE CBD

Vodafone’s number one priority is the safety of its customers and employees.

On the advice of the Queensland Police Commissioner, Vodafone’s stores in Brisbane’s CBD including Queen Street, Tattersalls and Adelaide Street, remain closed until further notice due to adverse weather conditions caused by Cyclone Debbie.
