Vodafone opens doors at premier Sydney CBD address
The company celebrates opening of flagship Pitt Street Mall store
Vodafone today announced the opening of its newest retail store located on one of the world’s premier retail strips, Pitt Street Mall, Sydney, just in time for Christmas.
Vodafone’s latest Sydney CBD store is the most high-profile address in the company’s retail network and marks the 60th store the company has opened in the last 18 months as part of a nationwide retail expansion program.
Vodafone Director of Sales, Ben McIntosh, said the company was thrilled to open its doors next to some of the world’s most well-known international brands.
“Today marks a very exciting time for Vodafone. Our new Pitt Street store represents the best of Vodafone retail and truly reflects the passion that Vodafone has for mobile technology and its commitment to delivering world class customer service,” said Mr McIntosh.
To capture the attention of the almost 65,000 pedestrians that pass through the highly sought out shopping precinct every day, the design and fit-out of the store moves beyond Vodafone’s standard shopfront design and embodies its world-class retail surroundings. With a glass cube exterior and a simple loft-like interior, the Pitt Street store features a monolithic device table showcasing live devices and boasts a spacious setting for customers to test, try and learn about new devices.
“As conversations are primarily the function of the store, we wanted to create an inviting space for customers to discover, play and experience new smartphones, tablets and wearables,” said Mr McIntosh.
“We are excited to see how our customers respond to our new retail environment.”
Mr McIntosh said the company’s retail expansion reflects growing demand for mobile technology products, which in turn is creating jobs.
“Australia’s love affair for mobile devices is strong and constant, fuelling a retail revival and more job opportunities for Australians. Over the last 18 months, our nationwide retail expansion has created 200 new full time jobs across the country, including 15 new roles at our Pitt Street store,” he said.
To celebrate the store’s opening, Vodafone will offer exclusive postpaid and prepaid deals to Pitt Street customers until 12 December.
