When travelling abroad with one of our Prepaid phone services we want you to savour, capture and share fantastic experiences without the hassle of getting a local SIM, buying a roaming SIM or searching for WiFi.
With Vodafone, we have Prepaid Roaming Add-ons for you to use in selected destinations around the world if your last recharge was Prepaid Plus or Pay and Go. You’ll have the convenience of taking your Australian phone number overseas with you.
We have the perfect Add-on for a long weekend 3 day getaway or a 7 day holiday – you can purchase as many Add-ons as needed for the length of your travels. We’ll notify you by text message about your usage and you can always track your usage in My Vodafone. If you like to surf the web or share your experiences on social media – then select a Roaming Data Add-on. Alternatively, the Roaming Add-on includes calls, text and data.
The expiry period for the Add-on will begin from midnight Australia Eastern Standard Time on the day of purchase. My Vodafone is free rated so as long as you have internet access, there won't be any data charges to purchase the Roaming Add-on.
You can get our Roaming Add-ons through My Vodafone or Express Recharge or via text to 1511.
Once you’ve purchased the Add-on, you also need to activate roaming through My Vodafone.

Prepaid International Roaming Rates.
Once you’ve exhausted your Add-on inclusions or if you decide not to use our Roaming Add-ons, you’ll be charged Prepaid international roaming rates if you use your phone again in the selected destinations. You’ll also be charged these rates if you travel to a destination where you can’t use our Prepaid Roaming Add-ons. Using VoLTE on roaming
Voice over LTE (VoLTE) is a feature that allows you to make calls within Australia using our 4G network. If you're on international roaming in the USA, you may be able to use VoLTE through some of their networks.
Using VoLTE when you're on international roaming may give you a better call quality with a faster call connection. You can also browse the internet or use apps at the same time.
You’ll need a compatible device with VoLTE enabled and be on an eligible plan. Find out more on our VoLTE support page.
Prepaid Roaming add-ons
Not for commercial or resale purposes. 1-day ($5 Roaming Add-on), 3-day ($15 Roaming Add-on) or 7-day ($35 Roaming Add-on) expiry after purchase. SIM activation must be completed in Australia. Max 90 days total use per calendar year. Data is deducted in per KB increments. Included data is for use on handsets only. Calls charged in 1 minute increments. All offer end dates, and recharge times are in Australian Eastern Standard or Daylight time (AEST/AEDT). Excludes premium, video, special and overseas free phone numbers. All Vodafone services, including the Vodafone data roaming service is subject to overseas network limitations and availability and individual device capabilities. Some Vodafone services may not be available whilst roaming in some destinations. Any unused Data from your Prepaid Roaming Add-on will not contribute to your Data Bank.
International roaming rates for Prepaid
All International Roaming rates are subject to change – check our Roaming page before leaving for most current pricing. International Roaming charges are deducted from your My Credit balance if you have not purchased a Prepaid Roaming Add-on. Check your plan on our Roaming Rates page for all rates and charges. All Vodafone services are subject to network availability, individual device capabilities and limitations of overseas networks. Some Vodafone services may not be available whilst roaming in some destinations.
