Since the first film was released in 1962, the James Bond franchise has been a key presence in the cinematic landscape. With the latest instalment, No Time To Die, being released in 2021, we thought we’d take a look at some of the greatest UK Bond filming locations from the series.

Cairngorms National Park, Aviemore, Scotland

Seen in No Time To Die (2021)

With its ominous mountains, jagged coastlines and coldly pastoral landscapes, it’s little wonder Scotland hasserved as the backdrop for many Bond films. Bond’s latest outing sees him return to Alba again, and we witness a thrilling car chase unfold on the banks of Loch Laggan in the Cairngorms National Park.

Glen Coe, Scottish Highlands, Scotland

Seen in Skyfall (2012)

In Skyfall, we see the top-secret agent returning to his Scottish roots, with most of the action taking place at Bond’sfamily home, Skyfall Lodge. Located in the valley of Glen Coe, this area wasreserved for some of the most spectacularshootouts in the Bond franchise. In the 2012 hit flick, we see Bond take shelter in thisfoggy and dramatic landscape when he and M are unexpectedly attacked by former M16 agent and Bond’s arch-nemesis, Silva. One of the most recognisable Bond filming locationsto date, this is a scenic area you don’t want to miss visiting.

On the bank of River Thames lies the real-world headquarters of the British Secret Intelligence Service, otherwise known as M16 Building. One of London’s most-visited locations, this building served as Bond’ssecret office and can be seen in movies from the Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig eras. In The World Is Not Enough and Skyfall, we witness the towering building under attack. It was eventually demolished in Spectre when Blofeld placed explosive devices inside and played a game of hide-and-seek, taunting Bond’s love interest, Madeleine Swann. The real-life agents at M16 attended a special premiere of Skyfall and are said to have loved the virtual demolition of this landmark. They even cheered when the headquarters was destroyed in the film.

Eden Project, Cornwall, England

Seen in Die Another Day (2002)

In Die Another Day — Pierce Brosnan’s final film as James Bond — the Eden Project was used to film the interior of villain Gustav Graves’ ice palace. And Halle Berry’sstunt double even climbed down the real attraction for the film! As one of the most well known James Bond filming locations, tourists flock from far and wide to visit this popular attraction in Cornwall.

Bourton-on-the-Water, Cotswolds, England

Seen in Die Another Day (2002)

While thissleepy village haslured visitorsfrom all over the world, it was one of the most picturesque James Bond filming locations in Die Another Day. This small town in the Cotswolds was transformed into an Icelandic glacier for the 2002 film, where Bond and Zeo went head to head in a risky car chase.

Whitehall, London, England

Seen in No Time to Die (2021)

Whitehall in Westminster serves as the centre of the British government and is home to a number of ministries and departments. In No Time To Die, we see Bond speeding through the streetsin his Aston Martin Vantage.

Gare Loch, Argyll and Bute, Scotland

Seen in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)

One of the most recognisable James Bond filming locations, in The Spy Who Loved Me, Bond discovers that the stolen submarines were part of Karl Stromberg’s evil genius plan to build an underwater civilisation. Thisscene took place on the eastern shore of Gare Loch, where Her Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde is located.

Eilean Donan Castle, Scottish Highlands, Scotland

Seen in The World is Not Enough (1999)

This towering building appears in The World is Not Enough as Castle Thane — the Scottish headquarters of M16. It was used as a temporary base for Bond and M in the popular 1999 film after a terrorist attack threatened England’s SIS building.

Stob Dearg, Buachaille Etive Mor, Scotland

Seen in Skyfall (2012)

In Skyfall, we witness Bond and M driving his sleek Aston Martin DB5 through this area, dodging cars and pedestrians as the secret agent weaves through the busy streets. Thisscene was filmed on the A82 near Buachaille Etive Mor and Buachaille Etive Beag.

Stoke Park, Buckinghamshire, England

Seen in Goldfinger (1964) and Tomorrow Never Dies(1997)

We all remember Goldfinger’s infamous golf scene where Bond’strusty bodyguard Oddjob decapitates a statue with his hat. As one of the most scenic Tomorrow Never Dies filming locations, Stroke Park features in the film when 007 faces off with his arch-enemy, Dr Kaufman.
