Additional information

What's an IMEI number?

Every device that uses a SIM to connect to a mobile network has an unique International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number. The IMEI only identifies the device and has no relationship to the device user.

The IMEI is 15 digits in length and can be displayed on-screen for eligible devices by entering the *#06# service code on the dial pad (then hit the call button), in the settings menu of your device, or printed inside the battery compartment depending on the type of device.

What's the purpose of an IMEI number?

The IMEI number is used to identify devices on a mobile network. When Vodafone is alerted that a device is lost or stolen we are able to block it which prevents it from being used by anyone else even if they use a different SIM.
