Our FTTB service is only available in selected buildings. Give us a call on 1300 801 122 to see if FTTB is available in your area. Alternatively, become a Vodafone broadband customer today and we'll help you switch if FTTB becomes available at your address.
Give us a call on 1300 801 122 to find out if FTTB is available at your address. We will organise for an FTTB installer to visit your premises and get you connected.
Typically, your address can be switched to FTTB with little downtime. You can continue to use your existing services until your FTTB appointment, where in most cases an FTTB installer will disconnect your existing services, in order to connect you to the FTTB network. Switching is simple, just call our expert Sales team on 1300 801 122 to get started. Remember: moving to FTTB will not necessarily cancel your broadband and phone services. Once you’ve switched, please contact your existing provider to ensure your old services are cancelled, otherwise you may continue to be billed for them.
If you already have an active FTTB service at your address and you'd like to switch to an Vodafone Vision Plan, please call us on 1300 801 122 to arrange a service transfer. Once lodged, service transfers typically take less than 2 business days to complete, and downtime is typically less than 24 hours.
Typically, FTTB connections are completed within 5 business days. Connection time varies depending on whether or not you've had FTTB installed at your address previously as well as FTTB installer availability.
A technician appointment is required to install Vodafone Vision. The Vision technician will need access to your home and someone aged 18+ must be home. If you do not own the property, you must obtain consent from the owner in order to have Vodafone Vision installed. Vodafone is responsible for delivering the service to the network boundary point at your premises. You are responsible for all cabling and wiring within your premises. Where cabling does not exist or you have a fault with the wiring in your premises, you must arrange for your own contractor to rectify this. You are responsible for setting up your TP-Link VX420-G2H or compatible modem and your Wi-Fi network.
You may prefer to/already have internal network cabling installed at your address for your internet, especially if Wi-Fi doesn't cover your house from end to end or you want to be sure you're always getting the maximum speed possible when transferring large amounts of data between devices in your home.
An FTTB installation does not include additional home network wiring beyond the installation of the Network Boundary Point (your side of the building’s Main Distribution Frame).
By switching to FTTB your existing smart wiring setup may need to be re-wired to work with FTTB, depending on the type of FTTB installation your premises requires. You'll need to hire a registered cabler if you'd like to have any additional home network wiring installed or to re-wire your existing cabling.
Certain devices, equipment or services may be impacted and no longer operate including but not limited to, medical devices or alarms, security alarms, EFTPOS machines, lift emergency phones, fax services and existing pay TV services. Please contact the device or equipment manufacturer or service provider if you are unsure if you will be impacted. Vodafone does not offer Priority Assistance.
Vodafone Vision plans
For personal use by approved customers in select buildings only. Subject to service qualification check. The Vision250 and VisionMax plans are only available in selected Vision FTTB-GFAST areas.
Vodafone Vision plans require that you either bring your own Compatible Modem or purchase the TP-Link VX420-G2H modem (‘Modem’). The total maximum cost of Modem is $180. There is no option to purchase the Modem outright or on a monthly payment plan. The Modem cost equates to $7.50 per month (‘Undiscounted Price’) over 24 months or $0 per month (‘Discounted Price’) if you stay connected for 24 months (‘Device Period’). The Discounted Price will appear as a credit on your monthly bill. If you choose to cancel your plan before the end of the Device Period you will need to pay the full Undiscounted Price x months remaining on Device Period. For example, if you leave at month 18 you would pay $7.50 x 6 (number of remaining months), at a total of $45. This remaining Modem cost will be applied as a lump sum on your final bill. You must connect for a minimum of one month. Recurring monthly plan fees are charged until the end of the month in which you notify that you wish to cancel. You will be charged for using your plan from the point of Vision activation at your premises.
If you bring your own Compatible Modem, it must comply with the minimum specifications available at vodafone.com.au. Devices manufactured before 2013 may struggle to achieve the speeds available on the Vision250 and VisionMax plans. You should check with your device manufacturer or check the device specifications on your Compatible Modem to identify the speed capabilities and limitations of the device.
Vodafone Vision is a data-only service and is not compatible with your home phone line service meaning you may no longer be able to use your landline (or existing phone number) for calls after you sign-up. Vodafone Vision service may also impact or interfere with existing technology, devices or services at your premises including medical devices, alarms, eftpos machines, lift emergency phones and some email or fax services.

Vodafone Vision speeds
The speed tier represents the theoretical maximum possible speed available during off-peak periods. Internet speeds on this plan are variable and you will typically experience much slower speeds than the maximum connection speed available on your plan. Actual throughput speeds could vary due to various factors including interference, customer cabling and equipment, download source, and quality and distance of in-building copper. Actual speed upon installation will be in the following ranges (download/upload): 45-50Mbps/16-20Mbps for Vision50; 70-100Mbps/20-40Mbps for Vision100; 200-250Mbps/20-50Mbps for Vision250; and 251Mbps-1Gbps/20-50Mbps for VisionMax. For more information on speed tiers and to further understand and compare plans please see our Speed Guide.
Estimated typical evening download speed is measured between 7pm-11pm. As this is a new plan, the speed stated here is currently based on an estimate. Vodafone will revise the typical evening download speed once it has collected enough data on the speed performance for these plans. Typical evening upload speed is estimated by reference to the maximum upload speed for the plan. These are not guaranteed speeds and you may experience lower speeds during this period and at other times.
Vodafone 4G Backup
Vodafone 4G Back-up is a complimentary service for Vodafone Vision plans available only with purchase of the TP-Link VX420-G2H (“Modem”). It provides an interim internet connection using the Vodafone 4G network in Vodafone Coverage Areas only. It is only available using the Modem with a Vodafone SIM on our network. 4G Back-up is available from when you receive your Modem until your Vision service is fully activated or for a period of 30 consecutive days (whichever occurs first). This service will also be automatically activated if you lose connection to Vodafone Vision during confirmed local Vision faults. You will be able to use the Backup service until the fault is resolved or for a period of 30 consecutive days (whichever occurs first). Service performance varies depending on network coverage and your location. Speeds for this service are limited to a maximum of 20Mbps (download) and 2Mbps (upload). Our Fair Use Policy applies.
