Sharing your data with other plans
This support article will give you key information about sharing data with other plans. If you have more than 1 eligible plan on your account, the included data will be automatically pooled and shared between up to 10 eligible plans.
You can share your plan’s included data with Vodafone Infinite (excluding Ultra+), Vodafone BYOD, Plus, Team and Vodafone Infinite Data Plans under one account. Data capped at speeds up to 1.5, 2, 10 or 25Mbps is not shareable.
How to share data with other plans.
Your included data will be automatically shared between up to 10 eligible plans.
If you’d like to share data with someone, they can transfer ownership of their plan to you. When the transfer is complete, their plan will be under your account.
If the person you’d like to share with doesn’t have a plan with Vodafone, you can apply to sign them up to a new plan under your account.
You can see the plans that are shared on your account through My Vodafone.
You can opt-out of sharing by using live chat 24/7 in the My Vodafone app (for the best experience) or on this page. Alternatively, give our team a call on 1555 from your Vodafone phone or 1300 650 410 from any phone.
How to manage access to the pool of data with Data Control
If you’re the account holder, you can use Data Control to restrict which plans have access to the data pool. Data Control is accessed through My Vodafone.
If you’ve restricted another plan’s access to the pool of data, they won’t be able to access mobile data. They will however still be able to access data if they connect to a Wi-Fi network.
Additional information
If you change from an ineligible to an eligible plan, you’ll automatically share the included data between all your eligible plans (up to a maximum of 10). You can see the plans that are shared on your account through My Vodafone. To opt-out of sharing, give our team a call on 1555.
Yes. Data Add-ons will be automatically added to the shared data pool.
Yes, your additional data is shareable unless you’re on a Vodafone Infinite, Vodafone BYOD, Plus, Team or Vodafone Infinite Data Plan. If you’re on one of these plans, additional data you receive while on $5 Roaming isn’t shareable.
Our Team Plans are great for sharing. To sign up to a Team Plan, you'll first need to sign up to a Vodafone Infinite or Vodafone SIM Only Infinite Plan and have an ABN/ACN. You can then share included data from your Vodafone Infinite Plan with your Team Plans. A Team Plan can share included data with up to 9 other eligible plans, which include Vodafone Infinite, Vodafone BYOD, Plus, other Team Plans and Vodafone Infinite Data Plans. Data capped at speeds up to 1.5, 2, 10 or 25Mbps is not shareable.
Yes. Your pool of data will continue to be shared while using $5 Roaming. The only data that won’t be shared is any additional data you receive while using $5 Roaming on a Vodafone Infinite, Plus Plan and Vodafone Infinite Data Plan.
The $5 charge is for each plan that uses $5 Roaming. For example, if you have three plans on your shared account and two of them use $5 Roaming on the same day, $10 will be charged to your account.
